Abstract
A pictorial version of the California Verbal Learning Test (the Connecticut Pictorial Learning Test) was developed for use with neurologically-impaired clinical populations. The test was found to be psychometrically sound in both normal healthy controls and brain-injured samples. Although normal controls were found to rely on verbal information processing strategies, the test appears to be sensitive to right-hemisphere dysfunction in patient populations. A noteworthy advantage of the current test is that it does not rely on intact visual-construction ability as do many visual memory tests. ^
