Abstract
The reaction of oxoammonium cation with alkenes and ethers has been investigated. The oxoammonium cation reacts selectively with trisubstituted alkenes to give alkoxyamines. The reaction of oxoammonium salt with ethers results in the oxidative cleavage of ethers. Benzyl ethers and allyl ethers react in a similar fashion, whereas dialkyl ethers and diphenyl ethers do not react under the reaction conditions. The reactions of alkenes and ethers with oxoammonium salt have been carried out at room temperature. ^
