Abstract
We appreciate the review by Professor Martinez of our book The Slave Next Door.' He makes some excellent points, exactly the points scholars would expect when an expert reviews a book written for the general public. But the fact is that this book was not written for experts, and so it will never be the book that Professor Martinez would like it to be.
