Abstract
Professor Steven Wilf: After the last panel, which was about ownership, the question arose about enforcement. And Professor Gerstenblith and Professor Cuno both have addressed that issue from two aspects. There is a lot of overlap between the two papers. The first is the question of law, with Professor Gerstenblith focusing upon due diligence and Professor Cuno focusing upon the claims to be made for a particular object. And then the question of culture, the culture collecting that Professor Gerstenblith outlined, and the kind of choices in judgement that Professor Cuno so eloquently described that are made by museum's decisions about preservation, about risk taking in terms of acquisitions. So in some ways these two papers dovetail very nicely, being both at the same time prescriptive, that is defining what should be done, and descriptive. So we open up the floor to questions.
